Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesCHI Saint Joseph Medical Group, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Radiation Oncology physician to join our growing team in Lexington, Kentucky.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who is looking for a strong referral base, a collaborative oncology program, meaningful community impact, and long-term program growth.

Opportunity Highlights
The incoming physician can expect:
- Practice Setting: Outpatient practice with low volume hospital consults
- Practice Location(s): Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY
- Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, 36 Patient Facing Hours
- Call: No call
- Patient volume: Average volume around 20 patients on treatment per day.
- Required procedures/skillset: Generalist with comfort in all external beam treatment modalities. Top disease sites are breast, lung, colorectal, head/neck.
- Support staff: 2 other radiation oncologists as part of the group, 3 medical oncologists, 2 surgical oncologists (breast, hepatobiliary) in Lexington. 1 APP for Radiation Oncology in Lexington. Clinic staff: 4 Radiation Therapists, 1 RN, 2 office coordinators. Employed dosimetry and physics.
- Clinic/hospital setting: 3 exam rooms
- Equipment: Currently have a fully functional Elekta, planning for move to a new location with brand new equipment (likely converting to Varian). Planning software is Eclipse. CT SIM onsite.
- EMR: EPIC and MOSAIQ
- Referral base: Established volume with large employed medical group.
- Growth opportunity: Long term could grow into a medical director role.

Job RequirementsQualified candidates should have:
- MD or DO degree
- Board certification or board eligibility in Radiation Oncology
- Open to new graduates
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Kentucky
- DEA license/eligibility
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care
- Interest in serving the needs of patients throughout Lexington and the central and eastern Kentucky region

Saint Joseph Hospital is a 433-bed hospital in Lexington and was founded in 1877 as Lexington's first hospital. Saint Joseph East is a 217-bed full-service community hospital serving Fayette and surrounding counties.
Cancer care services in Lexington include radiation oncology, medical oncology/hematology, surgical oncology, breast care, hepatobiliary surgery, infusion services, imaging, and related outpatient support.
Radiation Oncology services are currently connected to Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East, with Lexington cancer care locations including Bob-O-Link Drive and Blazer Parkway.
The program is planning a move to a new location with brand new equipment, with likely conversion to Varian and continued use of Eclipse planning software.
The opportunity offers established patient volume, a large employed referral base, and potential long-term medical director growth.
The Lexington oncology network includes two additional radiation oncologists, three medical oncologists, two surgical oncologists, one APP, employed dosimetry and physics, and dedicated clinic staff.
The practice is positioned within a broader CHI Saint Joseph Health network that serves central and eastern Kentucky through nearby hospitals, outpatient clinics, and referral relationships.
