Location: HSS Main Campus (New York, NY)
Available start date: Immediate
A full-time position is available for a cardiologist in Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) Department of Medicine, Division of Perioperative Medicine, and with a joint appointment in the Greenburg Division of Cardiology, at the New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
At the direction of the Physician-in-Chief or his designee, you will provide advisory services to HSS in connection with matters in the field of cardiology. Your responsibilities will include oversight of the EKG/Holter and Echocardiogram reading groups, participation in monthly educational meetings, and attendance at management meetings on an as-needed basis. You will participate in quality assurance activities as directed by the Physician-in-Chief/Division Chief. Position would require working one weekend/month.
Additional responsibilities will include the following:
Responsibilities:
Round on in-patients requiring cardiology consultation
½ day out-patients (preop cardiology priority over general cardiology for rheumatology, average 8/day)
Contribute to the pool of cardiologists reading EKG and echos
Available for urgent consults and participate in pre-surgical screening process
Providing guidance for cardiopulmonary technicians
Educate RNs on the use of Telemetry
Participation in educational activities with NYP Cardiology Division
Requirements:
MD required
Current Board Certification in Cardiology
Active medical license in NY (preferred additional NJ license)
