Navos is seeking a full time (1.0 FTE) Psychiatric Medical Director for Inpatient Services. The Psychiatric Medical Director position will provide direction to Navos Hospital medical staff ensuring safe, therapeutic, and competent patient care, including initial diagnostic psychiatric evaluation, record review and medication management occur in accordance with state and agency standards. The Medical Director will remain current in best practices and lead staff to provide efficient, effective, and timely fashion; collaborate in a multi-disciplinary framework with Medical, Clinical and Administrative teams; liaison with outside medical providers as needed; and serve as an expert resource for psychiatric care and treatment. The Medical Director will also have responsibility for patient medication monitoring, and assisting in coordination of pertinent medical care, as indicated.Education and/or Experience:MD or DO degree in good standing, completion of an APA-approved residency in psychiatry, and must be Board Eligible or Board- Certified in psychiatry; 4+ years of direct patient care in the treatment of severely and persistently mentally ill clients; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with both acutely and chronically mentally ill adults preferred. Must have current, thorough familiarity with psychotropic medications -- their prescribing, administration, and appropriate monitoring, including the assessment and management of potential side effects.
