The VA Central California is seeking applications for the position of staff physicians. We're seeking a board certified, full-time permanent hospital employed physician to join our Hematology/Oncology department at the Fresno, CA VA Medical Center Hospital. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a busy, academic, heavy clinical practice and be dual board certified in Hematology Oncology. We are specifically seeking someone to focus in solid tumors with GI and sarcoma/melanoma as well as hematology. Join a department that is expanding clinical area to better serve veteran patients!
Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology. The clinical activities of the Section of Hematology/Oncology span the breath of the subspecialty and are strongly supported by surgery, pathology, radiology and the other Faculty members of Medicine Service.
Salary Range - $280,000- $348,000
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician).
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
Board Certification in Hematology & Oncology is preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. Additional board certification in Internal Medicine is preferred.
