This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more. This announcement is for a part-time physician, board certified/eligible in Plastic Surgery at the St Cloud VA Health Care System. This position is located in the Surgical & Specialty Care Integrated Clinical Community working with Veterans throughout the facility. He/she is to ensure the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with the standards of accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. He/she is to ensure appropriate use of the available resources and will be responsible for the state-of-the-art standards of care in Surgical Service. He/she collaborates with other services as appropriate. The Plastic Surgeon examines, diagnoses, and treats or prescribes course of treatment for patients having disorders, malformations, diseases, and/or injuries and is required to deliver surgical procedures in the operating room and clinical areas. The Surgeon is expected to follow each patient through the full continuum of care process as appropriate. Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: - Participate in and/or manages all aspects of a Plastic Surgery Program, to include outpatient clinical and administrative. - Perform administrative duties related to patient care management including entering progress notes, histories and physicals, discharges summaries and consults, etc. - Use electronic medical records - Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including Nursing, Anesthesiology, Mid-Level Surgical Providers, and medical support staff to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of patient care services. - Participate in service level and hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program. - The incumbent duties will include diagnosing, treating and managing patients with diseases per standard, usual and acceptable or customary methods and techniques in the outpatient, Ambulatory Surgery Center setting. - Other services include, but are not limited to: performing outpatient surgical procedures, provide consultations, work ups and pre-& postoperative care. - The Plastic Surgeon will establish professional working relationships with other clinical service providers within the center and outlying Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCS), providing telephone and e-consultations, consultations as needed and screening consults that are received for appropriateness prior to scheduling.
