The VISN Women Veteran's Program Manager (WVPM) primary responsibility is to oversee and drive positive changes in the delivery of healthcare services to Women Veterans. The WVPM is a MD who plans and coordinates access to comprehensive medical care for women Veterans and achieves program goals, outcomes; this includes care for gender-specific conditions and mental health conditions in a variety of settings, such as primary care, specialty clinics, mental health, and inpatient care. DUTIES: The VISN Women Veterans Program Manager (WVPM) collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility, network, and national levels. Provides leadership in the design, development, coordination and evaluation of program performance and activities towards enhancing health care delivery to women Veterans throughout the Veterans Integrated Systems Network (VISN). Reports directly to the VISN Chief Medical Officer (CMO), working closely with the Deputy Field Director in the office of the WVHSG. Works independently, but in close collaboration with others at the local, network and national level. Conducts facility oversight visits Improve care access and continuity Increase participation in preventive care and health promotion. Support change to promote safe and welcoming environments. Increase the skills and competencies of facility WVPMs, clinicians and other staff involved with the care of women Veterans. Promote and develop educational programs for women's health providers Works closely with facility level WVPMs as a leader and mentor. Knowledgeable of the VISN's strategic goals and ensures that goals that are specific to the health of women Veterans are included. Knowledgeable of data sources and applies findings from data analysis to guide processes at the VISN level. Uses an analytical framework to create an environment that facilitates the delivery of women health care. Coordinates and evaluates integrated programs. Provides leadership in addressing ethical issues that impact patients and staff in the organization and local health care community. Recommends expansion in scope of WH services including decisions about whether services should be provided in VISN facilities. Provides guidance on the allocation of funds to facilities that are received from VACO for WH services. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
