The location of this position is Lafayette Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), Lafayette, LA. The Deputy Chief, Primary Care Service, will report directly to the Chief, Primary Care Service. Selectee is responsible for overseeing a comprehensive Primary Care/Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT)program for the medical management and education of patients and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The Deputy Chief, Primary Care will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: -Plans, implements, managing, and refining a comprehensive patient management, clinical support and administrative support program which services and technical counsel necessary to meet clinical support, and administrative programs. -Conducts the programs through assistance of subordinates but is ultimately responsible for the success and the fulfillment of the overall vision and mission of the program. -Participates as a member, lead or champion of process improvement teams, leadership committees such as Executive Committee of the Medical Staff, Patient Aligned Care Team Committees, Peer Review Committee, etc. Provides active leadership and decision making; is responsible for strategic and tactical planning, the budget process, and performance improvement initiatives for the organization. -Ensures that Primary Care Service follows agency regulations, medical staff bylaws, facility policies, Joint Commission (JC) standards, and other regulations. -Oversees professional and administrative activities within the assigned division including selection, orientation and continuing education of staff in collaboration with physician leaders. -Provides direct patient care, and coverage for primary care panels, which will be commensurate/proportionate with administrative time. -Responsible for strategic and tactical planning, the budget process, and performance improvement initiatives for the organization. -Initiate and supervise the hiring of new primary care physicians and other providers.
