Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Altoona is an 80-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives.

Our hospital provides a wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a vast network of highly skilled, independent private practice physicians and therapists and nurses, and the most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care.

We are seeking a full time Inpatient Rehabilitation Physician interested in building a practice and growing with the Altoona, Pensylvania community. Altoona is a small family-family friendly city with a low cost of living. Only a 2 hour drive to Pittsburgh and a 50 minute drive to State College, PA, home of Penn State College. As a vibrant arts and cultural community, Altoona is home to the Allegheny Ballet, the Altoona Symphony Orchestra, the Altoona Community Theatre, and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.

PRACTICE MODEL

Physician candidate will establish a private practice to include a caseload of medically complex inpatient rehabilitation patients and an outpatient rehabilitation practice if he or she chooses. The Physician will set up a relationship with an independent billing company and retain 100% of his/her own billing and collections. Encompass Health has its own well-trained outreach teams that identify appropriate inpatient rehabilitation candidates from surrounding areas.
