Position Information
The VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) is recruiting for a Chief of Anesthesiology and Co-Clinical Director of Operative Care Division (OCD). VAPORHCS is a large tertiary care facility serving over 95,000 veterans and performing close to 7,000 surgeries per year including Cardiac, Thoracic, Neurosurgery, Transplants – Liver and Kidney, Vascular, General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT and Urology. The division staffs the NW Pain Clinic, the Pre-Anesthesia Evaluation Clinic, and the Surgical Critical Care Team. VAPORHCS is a major teaching partner with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), educating hundreds of medical students, residents and fellows. VAPORHCS has a robust research program, with over $33 million in grant funding annually. VAPORHCS seeks a leader with strong clinical, administrative and academic background in Anesthesiology, who will successfully run the operations of the Anesthesia and OCD services and collaborate with OHSU partners to enhance educational and research activities.
