The Department of Pediatrics, Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and SUNY Upstate Medical University are conducting a national search to identify a new Medical Genetics faculty member to join their growing team.
Candidates are welcomed at any academic rank, with opportunities to support a clinician, educator and/or researcher seeking to launch/bolster their research career. The incoming candidate will receive a faculty appointment with SUNY Upstate Medical University, and their appointment will be commensurate with prior experience.
An opportunity may also exist for an academician who expresses an interest in leading a Division. The incoming leader would serve as Division Chief and report directly to the Chair of Pediatrics with dotted line responsibilities to SUNY Upstate senior physician leadership. He or she, would be charged with strategic development and the implementation of a comprehensive genetics program that will meet the needs of the population of Central New York. The Chief would also be expected to manage resources and foster an atmosphere conducive to faculty development, clinical care, education, academic productivity and regional/national leadership in Genetics.

Overall need is for candidates proficient in general genetics with opportunities for niche interests as well. Areas of opportunity include autism, cancer, seizures, short stature and neuro-genetics etc.
The program will continue to provide comprehensive clinical genetics services to pediatrics and adult medicine patients across the Upstate campus and service area.
