Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC), a non-profit, multi-site community Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission and Excelsior district. MNHC is seeking a Lead Physician for Pediatrics and Adolescent Services. MNHC offers primary care in adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB/Gyn, HIV and homeless services to a largely underserved, immigrant Latino Spanish-speaking patient population. Time: Clinical Time 75-80% and Administrative Time 20-25%
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer
Supervises All Pediatric physicians, nurse practitioners, and the Supervisor of Youth Services. Indirectly supervises the Pediatric Charge Nurse.
This role involves both direct patient care as well as administrative time to perform department supervision.
Clinician Duties (example):
Assumes direct responsibility for the health care of children and adolescents, including well-baby visits, physical exams, and frequently occurring acute illnesses and chronic diseases of children.
Provides ambulatory preventative medical services in accordance with community national Standard of Practice, AAP and DHHS guidelines.
Provides treatment for acute and chronic medical conditions according to AAP standards.
Provides ambulatory medical services for acute, chronic conditions as well as preventive services and health education to adolescents in our Teen Clinic in accordance with AAP and community guidelines.
Administrative Duties (example):
With an interdisciplinary team, help improve department quality metrics (clinical and operational, such as immunization rates, cycle time, etc.)
Creates or reviews all clinical and workflow protocols
Support process improvement initiatives that enhance Team-Based Care and PCMH recognition.
Works with Nurse Clinic Managers to maintain the quality performance of medical assistants and efficient clinic flow
Assures we provide all clinical services as described above depending on organizational needs across all sites including satellite clinics.
Provides clinical consultation by telephone to midlevel providers at satellite clinics.
Coordinates collaborations with community organizations, as they arise, currently including Breath California and SFCD as examples
Experience: Board certified or Board eligible and residency training in Pediatrics. 2 years experience practicing in Pediatrics.
Basic Life Support: Must have current BLS certification
Software: Experience with Practice Management Systems and Electronic Health Record Systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Languages: Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
