Yale Health Center is currently seeking a full or part-time primary care pediatrician to join the department of Pediatrics. We are a not-for-profit, physician-led HMO on the Yale campus which provides comprehensive health care to the faculty, students, and employees of Yale University, and their dependents. Our pediatric practice serves approximately 6500 children and adolescents, who come from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We value diversity and inclusion in our workforce, and seek candidates who will be responsive to the needs of our uniquely diverse patient population and who can contribute to the excellence of the Yale community.
The new pediatrician would carry an assigned patient panel of new and existing patients, and would participate in a call rotation of approximately 3-4 weeknights per month and 9-10 weekends per year. Call responsibilities include hospital rounding and outpatient acute visits on one weekend day. Our department’s multidisciplinary team includes MD’s and APRN’s, offers excellent nursing support, and holds regular clinician and departmental meetings. Yale Health is a lively and collegial environment that offers weekly educational conferences, as well as opportunities to participate in quality improvement projects and medical student/resident teaching. (A Yale clinical faculty appointment is available.)
Compensation is by salary, which is competitive and commensurate with experience. Excellent Yale University benefits include generous vacation time, retirement benefits, and college tuition assistance.
Yale Health is an open and accepting medical home providing culturally sensitive, patient-centered care to all members. We have the advantage of a capitated, single insurance system, and our clinicians are therefore less burdened by many of the challenges and complexities associated with a fee-for-service, commercially insured environment. We are located in a state-of-the-art new facility on the campus of one of the world’s premier academic institutions, and in additional to exceptional primary care, our patients have access to on-site specialty care, pharmacy, lab, and radiology services.
The greater New Haven area offers the stimulation of the university community, with a small town feel, extensive cultural and recreational opportunities, and proximity to New York, Boston and the beautiful New England coast.
