ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manages and coordinates care of the acutely ill pediatric patients.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS •Above average communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to the public and health care professionals •Board certified in field of Pediatrics •Current State of Georgia Medical License •Current DEA License •CPR Certification •PALS Certification
PREFERRED SKILLS •2 years’ experience as a pediatrician in an acute care setting •EMR experience preferred

Quality and Quantity of your work •Examines and assesses patients, treats children who have acute illnesses, infections, and injuries according to established medical guidelines to facilitate health and healing •Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic testing •Prescribes medications as recommended •Advise patients, parents or guardians, and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene and disease prevention •Collaborates and communication appropriately other team members to meet the needs of every patient. •Accurately maintains chart documentation •Assists in maintaining an organized and safe environment for patients and co- workers. •Is familiar with department equipment. •Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, and other medical staff •Serves as a clinical preceptor for nursing and medical students. •Performs procedure such as minor suturing (one or two layers), dermabond application to appropriate lacerations, plaster splinting with exothermic plaster splints, local lidocaine injections, minor fracture reductions, fluorescein dye examination for corneal abrasions, identification of “buckle” or long bone fractures, basic chest X-Rays, safe ear, nose and subcutaneous foreign body removal, and minor incision and drainage of abscesses

PediaKare of Newnan, Inc. is an after-hours urgent care facility conveniently located just south of Atlanta. We are open Monday through Friday from 4pm to 10pm and 10am to 6pm on weekends.
