Seeking a Full-Time, BC/BE Neurologist with special interest in Pain Management.
Working closely with team members in the development of an Interdisciplinary Pain Rehabilitation program with national rehabilitation certification;
Participating in the general Neurology clinic, and the inpatient Neurologist including ward services;
Engaging in the teaching and supervision of neurology residents and medical students
Partaking in pain telehealth aspects, including telehealth individual and group visits.
Work Volume: Expected to have or supervise 4 half day pain clinics (may have 6-10 patients in the follow up clinics) and supervise one half day neurology clinic and take turns on neurology ward and consult service with other neurologists.
Work Schedule: M- F; 8am- 4:30 pm. Night, weekend, and holiday call is required in rotation with neurology attendings, Approx. 1/7 or 1/8 weekends.
Ideal Candidate: Training & experiencein Pain Medicine and beBoard Certified/Board Eligible in Pain Medicine.Well trained neurologist comfortable with general neurology with training and interest in chronic pain. Must be able to work in a multidisciplinary pain team and understand that approach to treatment. Must enjoy teaching as we teach medical students and residents from multiple training programs (Georgetown and George Washington Universities). Must enjoy clinical work this is mainly a clinical position with some administrative and teaching time.

Federal Retirement Plan:
VA employees are covered by the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). FERS is a three-tiered retirement plan composed of 1) Social Security benefits; 2) FERS basic benefits (pension); and 3) Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is a 401K-type plan. The Federal Government also provides an automatic basic contribution (1% of salary) and up to 4% of salary in matching contributions, depending on the amount of the employee contribution. For retired military personnel, these benefits are in addition to full monthly retirement pay or pension.
